
Pastor Nicholas C. Christian Sr.
A Journey of Faith & Service
Reverend Nicholas Christian Sr. is the fourth Pastor of the 61-year legacy of the Philippian Baptist Church. He is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native born to proud parents Terry Christian and Anita Archie. As the second youngest among seven siblings, Nicholas was nurtured in a family deeply rooted in faith and service to the Lord.

Reverend Christian's unwavering commitment to faith and service began at a remarkably young age. At just seven years old, he embraced Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Under the guidance of the esteemed Pastor and revered Civil Rights leader, Dr. James S. Hall Jr. at Triumph Baptist Church, Nicholas eagerly immersed himself in various ministries, including the Choir, Usher, and Jr. Deacon Boards, as well as the Audio-Visual and Mime ministries. These early experiences laid the foundation for his lifelong dedication to faith and service.

At 12, Rev. Christian penned his first sermon, foreshadowing the call to preach that would later define his life's purpose. Rev. Christian embraced his calling nearly ten years later, being licensed and later ordained while serving as an associate minister at Triumph Missionary Baptist Church. Additionally, he honed his preaching and pastoral skills as a seminary intern and student under Reverend Dr. Wayne E. Croft Sr. at St. Paul's Baptist Church in West Chester, PA.

Rev. Christian has worn many hats in service to faith and community. He has shared his knowledge as an adjunct professor of Christian History at the Transfiguration Theological Seminary and contributed as an editor to digital devotional and sermonic platforms. His passion for social justice and community engagement shines through his lifelong dedication to the NAACP, his active involvement in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs within Comcast NBCUniversal, and his leadership in the creation of programs designed to empower and uplift those experiencing homelessness and poverty. His commitment to justice and equity has led him to actively serve as a board member at the Community House of Philadelphia by Human Good.
Rev. Christian's academic achievements are a testament to his intellectual prowess and dedication to learning. He graduated with honors from Philadelphia University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He furthered his education at the United Lutheran Seminary, specializing in Black Church Studies, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree. Alongside his academic pursuits, Rev. Christian has served as a guest lecturer and preacher across the country, spreading his message of faith, justice, and inclusivity.

Rev. Christian's professional journey at Comcast NBCUniversal is a testament to his leadership and strategic thinking abilities. He has demonstrated exemplary leadership and strategic thinking, matriculating the ranks to become a Senior Manager of Strategic Business Development at the company's headquarters in Center City, Philadelphia in just ten years. His professional achievements are matched only by his devotion to his family, as a loving husband to his wife LaNeeshia, a proud father to Skylar, Madison, Eden, and Nicholas Jr, and his service to the Lord.

Looking ahead, Reverend Nicholas Christian Sr. remains steadfast in his pursuit of academic excellence, aspiring to attain advanced degrees in theology and ministry. Guided by his unwavering belief that "Our Destiny is Greatness," Nicholas continues to walk in faith, trusting God's divine plan to lead him to extraordinary destinations. As he assumes the esteemed role of the fourth Pastor in the illustrious 60-year legacy of the Philippian Baptist Church, Rev. Christian embodies the values of love, justice, and sacrificial service, guiding his congregation with compassion and dedication.
